It has been a few weeks since I was able to work on the transom, but 2 days ago I bedded the transom onto the old skin, Glued it in place. Came back the next day and was amazing at how strong th...

Hey TomW, I think you are on the money there. That is what it seems more like. Floatation and less for Structure. The Sking of the boat is a very solid fiberglass 1/8" thick a hair fatter actually. It almost appears to be wood, but its not. It is very strong. The foam runs most of the length of...

Jaques, Shine What do you reccemend on the material I use to replace the foam I have removed? I looked on BBCentral and the Expanding Foam there says "Not intended for structural uses" Is this area on the sides of my boat all that Structral? Is it possible to just use the Blue Foam at the ...

WOW the little one must be really getting to you. :D  You and I talked about this before. No worries. The end result was to put in some ply to that thickness and Biax it to the Transom, to the Old side and the floor. Of course Glue it to the side of the boat. Have a better idea? Change of thou...

I have read on the board that people are putting in Foam to offset the weight of Engine, Batteries, etc... Is this only in the event of flipping or hull damage? to prevent sinking? So all boats only float because of the water they displace? So filling a boat from Stem to Stern Top to bottom wouldnet...

Floatation Question :?: I removed in Total about 1 Cubic Feet of Floatation Foam.(see below) How will this affect my Boats Floating? Will I sink lower into the water now because that foam is gone? I was already pretty close to the water. But The Transom was Rotten and Waterlogged as well as the Foam...

Thankx timoub007 and Boomer, I do remember reading in the How tos something about Plastic Wrap etc... Well in a Panic as the Transom was Gluing itself to the Garage Floor I grabbed two random plastic bags and put them between the Transom and the Floor with the thought that if it sticks to the Bags a...

Ok, Got them bad boys glued together. Went pretty well, no real issues. My Plan was to place one piece on the ground and then apply the Glue to it and then apply glue to the other piece and then clamp together. When I first started putting Glue on the piece on the floor Glue dripped onto the sides a...
