Dillpickles SK14 build.

Post by dillpicklepatch »

Hello all. My name is Brayden and I am 13 and from La Porte, Texas. Me and my Dad started a SK14 build. He reads alot and then helps me do all the work.
This is our first boat build so I may be asking lots of questions. We got our work table built and started cutting today.

Good for you bud, I'm sure it will turn out great.

Just be safe when building, you don't want to damage your young lungs so get a good mask for sanding.
Built: 15ft Skiff, 16ft Skiff, Modified Cheap Canoe, and an FS17.

Looking good!
Post lots of pictures and describe the steps you take so we can all learn or advise.

Best way to complete a big project like that is to make sure you do a little each day (sort of like eating an elephant). It is easy if you take a day off to take 2 off, and then a week, etc... if you stay at it, you will end up with a very nice boat you can be proud of!

I really dont have any new updates. I finally purchased the last of my wood and finished cutting it all. I earned my own money to buy the wood so it had to go a little at a time, lots of yards cut and few pens turned on the lathe sold. My dad said he would buy the Fiberglass, Resin and fillet so i should have pics and updates going soon.
