First of all I would like to say Hi to all of you guys here .
Now lets talk business
In the file V12_M_LS.pdf on page first (plan: expanded plates and nesting . D110/2 ) there are two dimensions on the side panel and two dimensions on bottom panel which I don't get :
If the stations spacing is 305mm and we start measure it from the edges of two plywood boards meet together why after 4 intervals of 305 mm to the left on side panel there is dimension reading 1229mm? Is that dimension somehow related to dimension of the side panel of 365mm (and 15mm)? Shouldn't the dimensions of the panel marked on the grid (365 and 15) be at the distance from the edge 4x 305mm = 1220mm?
Similarly is on the right hand side of the same side panel we have dimension reading 929mm and dimensions marked on the grid below read 368mm and 7mm , but if we use formula 3 x 305 = 915mm , not 929mm .
The same is with bottom panel in the same drawing: on the left (from the edge where plywood boards meet) is dimension 1221mm (dimensions marked on the grid read 449mm , 9mm) - if I follow 305mm stations spacing the distance is 1220mm , not 1221mm ; and on the right hand side we have dimension 921mm (dimensions on the grid underneath read 368mm , 7mm) again 305mm x 3 gives me 915mm , not 921mm .
I assume all these dimensions on panels are spaced with 305mm , so what is the reason for above dimensions on the plans? So far they just confused me.
edit: are these dimensions for bow seat frame and stern seat frame to fit ?
Thanks
Mario
Question for Jacques : V12 dinghy lofting from plans
Re: Question for Jacques : V12 dinghy lofting from plans
They are spaced every 305 mm except at the ends where I show the last vertical spacing line.
This is explained in our Stitch and Glue 101 tutorial.
That should answer your question. If not, please post again.

Re: Question for Jacques : V12 dinghy lofting from plans
Thank you for your reply. So one thing is clear for me. Now I still don't get what are the dimensions of the side panel (In the file V12_M_LS.pdf on page first; plan: expanded plates and nesting . D110/2 ) :
from the panel edge (where two panels are glued together) : 1229mm to the left , 929mm to the right
And bottom panel from the edge: 1221mm to the left, 921mm to the right.
Are these dimensions showing the locations of the frames ?

Could someone clarify this for me please?Mario76 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:41 pm Thank you for your reply. So one thing is clear for me. Now I still don't get what are the dimensions of the side panel (In the file V12_M_LS.pdf on page first; plan: expanded plates and nesting . D110/2 ) :

Yes, that is the location of the frames.
