Re: To Jacques. Plywood canoe.
The company that runs this forum offers free plans for a cheap canoe in both US and metric.

It's 2 sheets and I think lots have been built successfully.

Plus one for the cheap canoe. It's for one person, kick up to the NC16 for two. Here's a link for a pic of mine:

I don't think he was selling anything. Just asking Jacques advise on modifications he made to free plans he found from elsewhere.
Of course I could be wrong
Re: To Jacques. Plywood canoe.
Each boat has a program and is designed along some guidelines. For my Cheap Canoe, the focus was on economy and extreme ease of building. The Wooden Boats magazine sold plans for a 6 Hour Canoe that can be build in six days. I knew I could do better and that are the CC14 and the NC16.
The canoe shown in this thread is much more complicated to build: 5 panels instead of 3, all panels with complicated curves. Our panels have only one simple curve. It has less buoyancy than the CC14 and requires much more labor and materials.
If someone is ready to invest time and labor, why not get one extra sheet of plywood and build a serious canoe?
Those one sheet boats are a good exercise in drawing but I never seen one that is really useful.

Re: To Jacques. Plywood canoe.
Hello! Thanks Jeff, and to everyone for the replies. I'll probably end up trying starting with the cheap canoe 14 for my first boat.
And also thanks for the extra info on my model.
So my next question. Along the cheap line.
I know that polyester resin and wood isn't a really good mixture. But Epoxy is not an option for me yet(I'm not the one paying).
I am willing to build in any other way and substitute to get the first boat on the water. Maybe screws and polyester? Please help me out if you can. Thanks alot.
