Re: Fitz 21 CC Transom Stringer Sole R&R
Just wanted to add a few more pix of my progress. I should be installing the console this week, as all the wiring is about done. Having my console set up on a hollow stand allowed me to sit inside it ona stool and wire stuff up.. Way easier than crawling around on the floor or leaning in through the door...
Here's a couple of shots of the wiring inside the console
And here is the setup on the floor under the console.. All cables and wires etc, have been routed through the chase tubes
And here is the fore deck with a few more things added after the final coat of paint went on the inner gunwales...I got lucky and the oil tyank fir in a battery tray I had lying around. I had to make a strap for it, but it beats the painted steel one that yamaha gives you in the kit...REALLY!!??? Painted steel? C'mon Yammy!
I still need to paint the sole and do all my Kiwi grip once the console is in, but it feels like things are really taking shape. This is the fun part!

Console going on today! I have been finishing up a few wiring chores before I bolt it up. I am using some nice waterproof quick connectors (see link below)to join things up so I can simplify the connection process between the wiring coming from the chase tubes up to the control panels etc. A little time consuming, but It will be worth it in the long run.

I ordered these to use as rod holders. I have them on my small boat and love them. Best rod holder I have found.

I got it in and bolted/glued down and almost all of the riggings completed...What a milestone for this build...

A few more pix. I have the front casting deck painted in two good coats and it looks killer. Mounted some of the rod holders, and have completed all of the rigging under the console. I'll be finishing up the paint this week hopefully, and can start on the Kiwigrip.

Thanks Craig and Larry! That means a lot coming from a couple of guys with your skills and experience. Yes it has been a long haul, with many interruptions, but I am going to finish this thing or die trying! I started fitting the leaning post tonight, and took a few pix of the setup. I also finished the install on the front anchor hatch and snapped a pic of that. NOtice the paint on the front casting deck is done as well. I'll install that forward hatch tomorrow.
Wish I had more time to work on this.....It's going to be a fun summer!
