Fitz, that is a great motor, as good as the 200 HPDI, bullet proof.

I hope it is as good as everyone says...I am pretty psyched to be at this point
I know of one that is 15+ years old, has been mistreated, left in saltwater, sunk at least once, and still runs :!: :)

Not as fuel efficient as the later HPDI's, but its a turn the key and go machine

I finished off the primer in the interior. Have a little bit of touch up fairing to do, but should be ready to roll on some top coat and Kiwi Grip Soon. In this shot you can see the studs that will secure the leaning post (the only bolts in this entire boat)

Should get a lot done this weekend. I wish my paint order had come in today....plenty of other stuff to do though

Absolutely...Grouper...Tarpon...snook....all fish beware....If I had a good crew to help knock this out I could be on the water in a couple of weeks.

So I keep going around and around and around with the filler and the primer, BUt I think I am ready to do a final sand on the top gunnels and roll on some paint. :help: What grit sandpaper should I do for the last step before rolling on the Sterling Topcoat? I am using the transportation white over the S3 Highbuild yacht primer. I am going to do Kiwi over most of it as well, so I am wondering if I really need to do more than just skuff it with some 120 or 180....I will be using the roll and tip method for application. Words of wisdom??? :help:

Thanks
Tom

I used 180 grit and came out great. The only problem i have is I went over and over with the filler too and after i painted the sides of the inside hull and a little around the floor i discovered that the my efforts on the filler was not good enough. So go over and over and over with a fine comb.
Other than that you doing great.

Here's a few updated pix. Still going around the boat fairing sanding and priming, but I am just about done with all that I hope. I added a couple of new 1 1/2" scuppers on the transom just above the the sole level

Mocked up some of the bolt on items so I could seal up all of the penetrations...

I just saw your post about the Yamaha. I had a pair of those on a Pursuit. Could not kill them. I tried. I used Yamaha ring free, and Yamalub. I sold the boat with almost 2,000 hours. They are still going strong for the current owner.
