The deck that it had originally was 3/4. Not sure if it was marine ply. I figured I would replicate what the original deck was. I had thoughts about using coosa but in all honesty the amount of weight savings wouldnt of justified the cost. Roughly how much lighter would 3/8 ply be?

Good rule of thumb is 12.5 pounds per 1/8 inch thickness. For the deck you could also look at nidacore. I have no idea of your costs there but for me here the 3/4 marine plywood and 3/4 nidacord were close in costs. You will end up using more glass and epoxy with the core but it is much lighter. Just depends on what you are looking for.
