Yup that's the issue.....reached out to the manufacturer and it is a copper fitting, not brass which I think is better from a stability standpoint but still not sure what impacts would be for leaving it there

If it is easy to fish it out I would but if not I would not sweat it.

Re: Fuel Fun
Late to put in advice, sorry.
When I drain a fuel tank, I remove the hose from the engine and feed the hose into a bucket via the transom drain plug. Lowest and best drain point in a typical boat.

Re: Fuel Fun
That is sound advice I can only dispose of ten gallons a day......so had to have a way of cutting it off probably would have been better that way. Add this to the list of boating basics.Aripeka Angler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 6:49 pm Late to put in advice, sorry.

Gas is a little more touchy but I have decanted a lot of diesel over the years. Not too tough to get a 99% recovery rate.

Not sure what you guys that have etheniol in it can do. We do not have that problem so I have not had any problem with some really old gas. I have blended it 50-50 with fresh if it was really old. I have an old Merc Black Max that will eat about anything
Re: Fuel Fun

Re: Fuel Fun
We have fuel and used oil recycling at our transfer station. Our local station will take about 20-30 gallons per trip.fallguy1000 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 11:03 pmWhat do people do with old gas been in a tank a loonng time?
I know a guy who dumps stale fuel into an open 55 gallon drum and lobs kitchen matches at it until it blows.
It’s nuts, don’t do it.
