I'm committed! Pulled out the piece of ash. I knew I kept it for something special twenty years ago...Image
Anyone that lives in Florida knows how hard it is to find a really nice, clean, piece of white ash! (yeah...joke...)
Cut an angle on what will be the top to shape it.
Image
Cut it in half and used a strap and lines from the boat to pull it tight against the side.
Image
After shaping it, strapped it up again and traced the top and ends with a pen.
Image
Then sanded the sides down to the glass along that line.
Image
Image
Sanded the rails down to 220 grit and coated with epoxy.
Image
Beautiful piece of ash (joke again...love typing "piece of ash")
Image

Tomorrow will glue them on using epoxy with wood flour, very small, temporary bolts, big washers, and wing nuts.

Second coat of epoxy on the rails today. Forgot how good saw dust and epoxy smell.

The Cape is calling the man.
He could probably build an aircraft carrier in 3 days if it meant not missing the trip. :D

Nice bright work!
