I have finished my motorwell and am ready to flip the boat!
I didn't make it by Xmas but I will beat the New Year - flip scheduled for first thing tomorrow morning.

Well!
There is good news - and there is bad news.
First the good news - the boat is flipped!
The bad news is that the camera stopped video recording before the flip so there is no video.
Stinking hot here - it nearly killed me.
Mrs Barraman took some stills as I was getting ready to flip it. I'll take a pic of it upside down on the strongback again - later when it cools off a bit.
If this hull goes half as good as it looks - I will be a happy man!

Back to it the future!
Seems like it looked just like this back in May.
Can I get it faired and painted by the end of January - we are about to find out!

I forgot the size of that boat. The new pictures, with people, help show how big it is.

Castors - what he said. My castors were fine for an empty shell, but once I got all the bulkheads and stringers in they failed first move. Had to jack up the whole project and add 5" ones, I think they were rated for at least 1000 pounds each.

Yes, it's a big sucker! Interestingly, now that it's upside down and I can get a grip on it, I can still lift the nose. Most of the weight is in the rear end - as you would expect.
I would be interested to know what it weighs. I am about to order a trailer for it. When I get that I will run it over the scales, then put the hull onto it and check its weight.
As for the wheels/castors - don't tell Peter he was right or he will get a swelled head! I had one rear wheel "blow out" (buckle) yesterday and will have to replace that. I still hope to get away with what is on it. Don't plan to move it about much during fairing and painting - an then it can go onto the trailer to be finished.
Got a couple of days work around the house to keep the cook onside - then I will be back into it. All fired up for fairing - iI want to get this sucker finished!

HI Barra, well done on the flip. You had it so easy on the first one, something had to happen on the second - hence the buckled wheel . The fairing will go quick - all looks strong and sound.
Build on.
