Alright, I have been hesitant to start a build thread, because I was worried I would spend too much time in front of the computer than working on the boat. I started building a PH18 a few months back, and have received a lot of help from this forum, so I felt bad not posting progress that could possibly push someone over the edge to get one going.

In a nut shell this boat is modified from the plan per the following:
- Installed a tunnel (per glassing/construction schedule from the XF20 tunnel, but per the design I received from Outboard Jets (Manufacturer of jet lower units)
- Installed reverse chines from transom to bow
- Rear deck to be flush (no motorwell)
- No skag

My goal is to be able to draft as little as possible; speed and fuel efficiency is not a priority for me.

Currently I am to the point that I am prepping to coat the bottom with "white graphite".

Motor; Found in a barn, still in the crate. Looked hard for this motor as they quit making in either '09 or '10 but is nearly 100 lbs lighter than the closest new comparable. Still need to get the jet lower unit, so if anyone wants to buy a brand new lower unit let me know.

Fairing; (3) rounds of blended filler & (3) rounds of quick fair (no photos of quick fair as I got excited and covered it with pigmented epoxy.

Pretty work for sure. How'd you do those reverse chines? Is that kerfed yellow pine? It's neater work than I can do for sure and I'm glad to see another nearby builder. I'll be working in New Braunfels tomorrow, running around with a dang tie on instead of doing proper work like that

Great looking work! Once I tear down and replace the sprag in my brothers transmission and wrap up a few other small projects, I can get going on my jet boat. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Forgive my ignorance here, but what is white graphite? You are evidently not using a primer, so is the pigmented epoxy the final coat? What about UV protection?
