Great Sandy's back in the drink after checking all through hull fittings, replacing the majority of seacocks, replacing the cutlass bearing, greasing the Autoprop and rudder assembly, applying Prop Speeding to the Autoprop, replacing shaft and prop anodes, and wet sanding then antifouling her arse.
Pic of her return journey to the drink.

Boat looks great!
Just wondering why the need to replace the seacocks?

Thanks Jeff.
After 25 years in saltwater, a number of the original bronze ball valve seacocks have started to weep. Prevenative maintenance.

I’m sorry panning to weep at the cost of that maintenance.
What does a haul out run?
Is that both out and in?
How do they price the bottom jobs there?
Yard fees included or priced by…?
I’m planning my first haul for the helms. It’s “ruining Christmas” out till 2025 at the local rates.

Jaysen, it's the weekend here in Oz, and I haven't yet got the invoices associated with the haul out, works and materials, and splash. Will let you know.

I see there are major lock downs there now. How is this going to effect your cruising plans?
Replacing those seacocks is just a good example of somebody who takes preventive maintenance seriously. That is something all too many do not do.

Re: ST21 'Skinnydip' build, and boating adventures, Noosa, Australia
The Commonwealth of Australia has six States and two territories. The two most populous States (New South Wales and Victoria) are currently in COVID (Delta) lockdown.
Noosa, where we live, is in the State of Queensland, which includes the Australian Great Barrier Reef Waters we now once again wish to cruise. Queensland is not currently in lockdown, but given Delta's potency, it feels like it's only a matter of time ........
So currently we're putting on long hours and more than a few dollars get Great Sandy and our personal arrangements aligned so we can start cruising north to Great Barrier Reef Waters ASAP, before a seemingly inevitable Queensland lockdown (Delta feels relentless) is decreed.
It feels to us like it's come down to a privileged choice: Do we prefer being locked down at our loved home in the seaside town of Noosa, or on our cruising yacht Great Sandy while passaging between iconic Great Barrier Reef anchorages?
