I like the approach of keeping things simple and light; there is a cascading series of benefits when you go that way- less fuel use, less maintenance work, etc. Very well thought out and executed.

8 months to painting seems pretty darned quick to me!It's been a long haul
I can't imagine what it weighs at this point

Ah Richard your build is great and sure appreciate your documenting it. If people want to see the Designers specifications they can find them on the PDF page. Hull weight as designed is 240 lbs. I think you went over that a little bit. I think you'll make the DWL at Designed Displacement, 4" at 1100lbs.

Re: FS-18 - "Bare Bones"
Today's progress...
I had to do some of the "impossible to get to" rigging before I installed the decks. Waiting on some connectors to finish the wiring...
Caulked in the fuel tank with translucent grey silicone...
Had to install the stern and bow eyes before painting. I'll have to mask them when I paint, no access after the decks go on.
I put my cnc jig on the transom and redrilled the over drilled and refilled bolt holes. The plate has a non standard drilling pattern.
The pattern of a standard outboard is different.
I hit the bull's eye.
Lastly, glued down the decks. The screws will come out tomorrow...
These are the cockpit drains, I will flare them and they will disappear when they get painted the hull color...
That's it for tonight.

Re: FS-18 - "Bare Bones"
Sweet.
I was thinking... you need a “bone white” primary color in this. Something the make it look less picked over or commercial stripped hull and more ... wasted in the desert. Not sure I’m explaining that well. Think sun bleached skeleton and it might make sense.
I’m sure there will be a run on socks wherever you launch her no matter what colors you use.

Re: FS-18 - "Bare Bones"
Had to take a little siesta and trim the tree.
The hull weight with the jackplate, battery, fuel tank, wiring and decks is 465 lbs.
For sure "Bare Bones" will have some shade of white paint on the topside, the hull will be ice blue.
Need to sort out some skeletal fish graphics for the hull. Still pondering.
