Would anti static tackcloths help?
Narfi,

I figured a bush pilot would sniff that out better.

I'll give you this one. You got my interests at heart.

Well, I ran my hand over the boat at 61% rh and it didn't crackle.

We'll see what sanding and tack cloths do tomorrow.

Today, I am working on my nets.

It's common practice to wet down a concrete floor before painting, not so much to reduce static (although it probably does) as just keep the dust from rising. Looking good so far!

I do have a pilots license, and do live in the bush, but I haven't really flown much in my time here. Would be more accurate to call me a bush mechanic which is much less glamorous :P

Rumor has fabric softener sheets are anti-static. I supose one could try and hold a softener sheet above the tack cloth, but I am doubting all of it.

Our building is running at 60% rh and that seems to help.

Thanks.

These are all high dollar items. I checked some more generic stuff and here are the troubles.

1. Blowing air creates dust. So the ionizing guns blowing air are going to put dust into the air.

2. A wand is great, but the act of wiping is what is causing the static. I need like a tacky wand where I can clean the boat and antistatic it at the same time.

Right now I have 61% humidididity in there. Guessing it still ain't enough. I orderer new filters for the units. That might help.

For our final topcoats we are going to bag the boat. This might help as the bag will probably get a charge and pull dust to it.
Here, this may help why I suggested ion generators to help you with your dust problem.

More paint.

We are running two humidifiers and swamping the floor.

Whole place wreaks of epoxy.

That still has to smell better than fresh fertilizer.

Looks amazing!

Might be a little wave here and there, but we are gonna 220 this thing and paint one more time next week primer. Then 220 again and topcoat.

It took me 8 hours to prime. I am using a different foam roller..7"..holds less paint, looks waaaayyyyy better.
