So I was wondering if you could drill and fill a hole right through the fillet. Might even aim the hole at a bit of a down angle.

If you stuff a piece of cloth in the hole very loosely and where it lays in the well and outside the hole it will keep the water out and the leaves will not have a chance to stain.

I’d grind a flat on one side of the flange of the thru hull fitting. I’ve drilled holes like yours so the hole saw is dragging on the lowest point and on a slight downward angle. Sort of like Fuzz said only not directly through the fillet. You’ll need a clamped guide so the hole saw doesn’t walk. I drill a hole with the correct angle through a 2x4. Then cut away the surface below the guide hole so it’s right on the edge. I’d use a miter saw so the bottom of the jig fits snug on the lower surface. You’ll have to relieve the backside of the jig to match the fillet.

Well, the thru hull is wonky bugger. It is threaded plastic like 2" od. And the 316 threads onto it and a flange.

If you put it on an angle; the flanges would not lie flat, so about the only way to deal with it would have been to put a flat on the flange, but the radius is quite a bit bigger than the flange.

I could build up the bottom and build a channel to the drain, but it is just adding more weight.

The small weep hole idea is not horrible.

As for the leaves, I am under a tent now; so they are a non-issue.

Helm riser.

The black coosa on the top is the bench base.

The high step is a step/footrest.

The coosa on the bottom is the footwell.

This thing will attach to the bottom of the console.

I wish I could make the connection to cleats waterproof, but I seem to lack the intelligence to do so.

If I could slide the helm riser all 27" down, the cleats would easily be waterproof. But wrestling with this beast wpuld result in scratching things up.

The entire station is supposed to be under a roof and enclosed, so probably overthinking, but moldy water under the thing or cleaning it now and then could be a pita.

Maybe I will just put a drain under there and a dam to keep gear stowed dry.

Dan I understand your wish that other builders lived closer. Trying to figure out things by yourself can be a tough deal. And when I see guys make things that are hard for me look easy it drives me nuts

Slight downward angle is actually just following the angle of the motor pad. 7 degrees or whatever it is on your boat. The thru hull would still seat properly. Boat looks fantastic btw. Yacht is probably the more proper description...
