Poll-informal.

Hardtop is all aluminum.

Paint or anodize and be done with it? I think once you anodize, painting is out.

Paint you can fix easily. Paint.

If you want to fair, do you chromate convert first? Then sanding would damage the oxide. But not sure I can dip something with a non-metal. So, no chromate?

Leaning to polish, tank, done. A nice champagne color. So much to do...you know.

Chromate then several layers of primer then paint. If you see metal part of the repair is striping enough to redo the base around the damage.

I don't have an opinion on paint vs anodize but I have painted plenty of anodized aluminum in my life, so it's not a one-way trip or anything.
I designed my own boat. This is the build thread:

Cool. I got the idea I had to take it all off to paint. I think if it corrodes; you gotta sand blast for best results.

The guy, in order to tig weld, had to put breather holes in it. Should I put some butyl in them?

Gonna anodize and then paint if it corrodes later. I want to get the boat done before the snow flies.
