And one of the (mostly) finished forward cockpit decking... Of course, it still needs to be sealed and topped with a layer of 'glass.

Perfect. We had another small issues with the server that was fixed by the hosting provider this morning. Thanks for letting us know.
My already completed 'Lil Bit'. A Martens Goosen V12 set up to sail me to the fishing holes.

windows and deck are looking good! Your design details for the front deck really pull it all together.

YES!!! Everything looks to be coming along nicely!

I would welcome suggestions for navigation lights. I'm wanting something very bright (2nm), LED, with a stainless housing. I've always used side-mounted lights, and I think those will still work here, but I'm slightly worried about visibility from head-on, due to the squared off bow transom on the GT27. Will the reduced taper at the bow and/or the bow's blunt width make it hard to see sidelights from straight on?

Any of these might work, all rated for 2nm in the stainless steel versions:

I think I'd top mount.

I bought side mounts and I am a little nervous they are less than ideal.

Fallguy, can you elaborate about the drawbacks of side mounted?

I could go with a single, center-mounted combination bow light. That would probably look best, and should guarantee appropriate visibility at all required angles. Or they make separate top mount lights that I could place in each corner of the bow, though I worry a little about those getting snagged occasionally on a dock line or kicked when people board or unboard at a dock from the forward cockpit.

The side mounts work great IF you mount them at the right angle. All the well designed side mounts have a 112.5° beam angle and must be mounted such that the forward extreme of the beam is in-line with the boat's center line. The mounting surface also should be vertical. You'll need to look at the particular model's installation instructions. Some, like the Taco, are symmetric and need to be installed 45° from the boat's centerline. Others are asymmetric and need to be installed at some other angle; e.g. the Oznium needs to be at 34°:
