Missed this one....
I like where you're heading. You are dead on that this will be Hermine's opposite for an SC 16.
So I know what I'm looking at, you first stitched together a prototype using hard board and now we are looking at the real deal with 7mm Okume?
I'm with Fuzz on not flipping until you have finished the outside. The seams will flex without the tape, and once taped I would go ahead and glass the bottom. Rocker typically shows up now based on the strong back and/or the stations being slightly off. Before you tape the seams check the entire bottom with a straight edge to be sure.
In your earlier post you don't need that much weight for splicing the seams together and yes, you should have more evenly distributed the weight as well. Nothing a good sanding won't fix.
Build on!

Thanks Fuzz and Cape Man. Thats the advice I needed to hear. I will just have to wait and take it step by step.
Guess I will put a list together of epoxy supplies and give a call to BBC in the meantime.
Capeman...yes you are correct in what you were looking at...I took the time to build a full size model first. I guess I didn't really need to do it but I have the time now and I got a chance to learn a bit more about epoxy and setting up the strongback frames. The last few pics is where I am now with 7mm Okoume.

I'm going to be watching this thread! It will be a FS16!
Re: Coach's SC-16 in MA
Thank ya Easter Bunny! Bawk! Bawk!
Wish I could jump into this easter basket of goodies but up here we are expecting 7 days of rain.
Hoping to get outside next weekend if mother nature co-operates!
I knew I should have built that barn! Dang kids and college educations! LOL
Appreciate the quick turnaround and great service Reid, Jeff and JM!

Re: Coach's SC-16 in MA
Today I got impatient waiting for the rain to stop up here in the Northeast. I decided to put my 10x20 tent up and get started. Here are some pics of her stitched together and tabbed with West System 610 thickened epoxy. I had a tube and decided to try it out. More rain tomorrow but I can probably mix up some thickened epoxy on Monday night, cut the ties and fill the gaps. Then maybe next weekend I can get the seams taped up.
Re: Coach's SC-16 in MA
Everything is looking good so far, but be careful with mixing 3 different brands of epoxy. Someone else will need to chime in, but you'll need to wait for a full cure of each epoxy brand before continuing. I don't know how long of time you need to wait.

Hi Mike to be honest I never thought about that. Its a good point. The 610 epoxy tabs between the stitches will sit for like 55 hours so I should be good after that. I will be using the Marine Epoxy from BBC the rest of the way.
If I can get the rest of the gaps filled on Monday night it will sit and cure for 4 days then I have to sand and prepare for taping the seams. Its still pretty cold up here barely making it over 50 degrees so I cant move too quickly.

Re: Coach's SC-16 in MA
55 hours might be long enough, but I'm not an expert so you should check with Jacques to be sure. My other concern is your picture shows Quick Fair, a System 3 product, not the same as the Marine Epoxy, so the same situation with waiting for a full cure. I did the same thing on my first build, and the down time waiting for a full cure drove me crazy.
