I made my hatches from 3/8 ply and have been very happy with them. They were simple to build. I glassed the tops but not the undersides and they are very sturdy. Assuming this link for my build thread works, what I did for the hatches is on this page and the two that follow. I got the idea from a video that Barraman had on his build thread.

Thanks so much Mr. Will,

That really helps seeing them come together and that’s what makes this site as well as everyone on it so valuable.

Well after sanding down the fairing my worst fears came to light  I just thought I fixed the bad mix Mr. Reid you were correct sir, just hardened the top. My paper started gumming up so I went ahead and stripped the area back to the first layer that was solid. I’m gonna tell you I wouldn’t wish that job on my worst enemy it sucked getting that goo off. It’s done and I learned one thing for sure, mix and mix again and when your tired and can’t remember if you mixed the epoxy mix it again

What a mess it was!!!

Sucks to be you :help: Glad you put on your big boy pants and took care of the problem but sure glad it was not me. The good part is it will no longer have you wondering if there is a problem.

Picked up my Epoxy primer today, looking forward to getting the fairing done, primed and flipped. I got a little more glassing to finish up on the inside and then the rigging before floatation.
