Going to fix a few ugly spots on SandPiper.

The storage area for the fuel tank was a dumb idea! Going to order a 3-5 gal metal tank and install under deck.

Drainage from the cockpit is not even close to being enough.

The Nautolex Marine Vinyl Flooring SUCKS!!! Installed with their products and to their instructions...
Does look really nice!!!

Installing Tessilmare Rub Rail - Radial Black. (been in storage 2-3 years)

Had been using battery powered nav. lights, going to install fix LED lights. (been in storage 2-3 years)

The 2017 Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke works great on her.
Trailer 2017 works great, need to rearrange bunks and guides a bit.

Need to see how well a Bimini top will work.

Due to not having a place I like for the portable fuel tank I am thinking of getting a tank also. I don't like the idea of a built in but I am liking the idea more and more.

How much water do you get in the boat that you need more drainage?

I have a brand new aluminum tank I got from Boyd Welding that I never installed. 5 gallons, measures 12x12x8. It is a permanent below deck tank so you would need a fill tube and vent. $100, shipped. Shoot me a message if your interested.

I'm going to install the center box I was building for the LM18, it will take a 6 gal portable. I don't have a good photo, will post when it look great! I have it glassed, but needs a good deal of sanding, fairing, sanding...... primer.... sanding...... primer......!!

I'm going to use the SandPiper on the river, coastal, back bay, salt creeks and in the lagoons. A 1" drain in the cockpit does not cut it for safety. Going to play around with large scuppers from the aft deck/cockpit bulkhead to the transom.

I now know what non-skid I'm going to use, Kiwi grip.

Going to sand the vinyl with 32 grit and then put down a neat coat of epoxy, then sand....


But first, I need to add a 1.25" PVC pipe (for fuel line) under the cockpit deck from the new console box to the aft compartment. Since I'll be sanding the deck anyway, I'll be able to just cut a 2" wide by the length I need from the box to the aft frame. Install the pipe, epoxy/wood flour glue then recover with cutout piece.





I now have to get her back to this stage of the build.....

These are a few later photo of the console box. A 6 gal portable fuel tank slides in from the port side. Good size storage in the forward part under the seat.

Got all the vinyl up, just a gooey mess under most of the aft deck and foredeck. The sole/cockpit deck is not so bad, not going to use chemical cleaners here, just sanding. I thought Nautolex adhesive no. 88, dried to a hard product.

The stuff I used was water based and was used on a very humid day, not enough time to evaporate before laying down vinyl. (?)

Well another weekend sanding, then S3 primer, top coat and Kiwi Grip!
