Hi Bogey,
You are making fast progress. I love your pictures. Is the plastic 1 1/4 inch ring a bit big for the pivot point and is the plastic thick walled and as hard as Delrin ? How thick is your SS sleeve at the pivot ? It should fit into the 1 1/4 inch ring closely.
Greetings from Karl

Hi Karl! Yes there will be some play between the pivot (PVC ring) and the sleeve, but the PVC is 1/4" thick and should prevent the the wood around the pivot hole from hogging out.The PVC probably isn't as hard as the (optional) delrin material but it's better than using nothing at all.gonandkarl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 2:41 am Hi Bogey,

PVC will not last as long as Delrin but it may give you 10 years of use after which you replace it, no big deal.
All those parts look great.

The only problem I have had with the drain holes in my boat i used a 1.5 inch hole and it works fine the only problem is that on launching my boat depending on the ramp I get water coming into the boat through those during the launching. I have not had problem with water getting into the cockpit area at all in the tears I have used the boat

Hi George! Most of my sailing will be on the east coast between North Carolina and South Carolina. I plan to one day sail to Geogia, Florida, the Keys, the Gulf Coast etc. I figure the bigger the scuppers the betterdas boot wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 3:24 pm The only problem I have had with the drain holes in my boat i used a 1.5 inch hole and it works fine the only problem is that on launching my boat depending on the ramp I get water coming into the boat through those during the launching. A few pics of today’s progress . I didn’t have a lot of time today but I managed to knock out a couple things that have been bugging me . I finished the faring of the shoe, fiberglassed it to the hull with 12 ounce tape and got a big thick batch of micro-balloons down. I also got the microballoons down around the skeg
Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach
Sanded the top threads off the biaxial on the shoe and knocked down any uneven/ sharp edges. After that I mixed several batches of microballoons to a paintable viscosity and used a chip brush to paint it onto the shoe. I will probably do it once more before sanding it one last time I also glassed one side of the center board . Well, that’s all until next week
Re: AD16 Myrtle Beach
The hard part is yet to come getting the inside of that keel opening glassed is a bugger i put a brush on a long stick that i could fit down that slot and getting the glass in there was a chalange but you can get it ok then painting is the same problem
