I have been thinking about a paddleboard for a little shore fishing on a couple of small lakes. Can't wait to see the finished product.

He's planning on running it on the frozen Platte River this Feburary.
Going to have to use some sharpened ski poles to get it going.

Could you put a seat on this and use it like a sit on top kayak

They make seats for paddle boards (or flat top kayaks).
I just want to know if it will have cup holders?

Weight will be between 32 and 34 lbs if built correctly.
Later, we will use that assembly system to build a Sit On Top/ Stand Up Kayak: a wide stubby kayak, very stable in the style of this boat:

Looking forward to this one
I would like to start this after my Phantom
I saw plans a couple years ago that incorporated a cooler with seat cushion on the board.

sorry
The SUP is moving along, just have not done anything on it for a couple weeks. I will post pictures on Friday when I upload/re-size/upload for the week.
Jacques is reworking the panel shapes to make them easier to bend. There was a lot of twist towards the bow and it was not something many people would be able to do. So, what to do with the half built prototype #1
Well, i decided to fill it foam and finish it anyway
Since we will be improving the design and not selling this first version, I will just post a couple pictures of it when Im finished.
We will build a prototype of the newer design, and document it completely.

4 mm ply on the bottom panels? It's what I've planned, but I also have an aggressive bend at the bow, and am wondering if it will take the bend.
Looking forward to the pictures of the unofficial prototype...

Shine,
You mentioned filling the 1st prototype with foam and finishing it.
Does filling with foam get rid of the need for a vent plug?
Thanks,
Paul

Any Progress?
I had the chance to go kayak fishing this weekend down at Rockport/Port Aransas, and now I am very interested in the plans for this type of boat.

It's at a stand still: I am working on the catamaran and Joel is busy with some vacuum bagging project plus the Seacraft.
As soon as I finish the cat, we'll work on it.

BTW - the Cat looks great, but for me that is a project that is a long way away. A kayak, I might be able to start this winter, while I am still working on my OD18.
Keep up the good work and I will keep watching

I am trying to decide whether to foam or not when I start my build. With some quick calc, guessing the ft3, for my homemade plans, it looks like 20lbs of foam? 11 cubic feet = 22 lbs foam. that is a big weight increase. maybe I will try a vent.

Yes, foam is too heavy for the SUP.
We wanted to test gluing the deck to foam.
