N7 - an easy build

I know we often recommend the Cheap Canoe as a first build, but I'm working on the N7 - nutshell dinghy tender. It is very easy and the greaterest part is when you stitch the bow, stitch/screw the center frame and then form the panels around to the transom - BINGO - a boat appears - instant feedback of the positive sort.

The only drawback as for a learning boat - no butt joints - but you do get a very traditional looking craft

Can't say enough about a small build - it lets you experiment with stuff like laminations & glassing, fillets & finishing.

It looks great! I too wish I had done something smaller than the FL 14 as a first project. The N7 would have been perfect, theres nothing wrong with the FL14, its just BIG, and my ideas of truck-topping it are slowly fading away!!!!!.... the N7 would have fit perfect in the back of a full size truck!!....

Good Job!

Yep, I'm looking at her for a bream getter on those days I don't want to launch the power boat. She'll see lots of worms and crickets and cane poles.

Dave,

Nice work. One can never have too many boats.

looks like a nice little boat, something I might just consider as my next boat.
