Hey Guys,

Well its been about 8 months since I purchased the plans and epoxy kit for the HC16 and i'm finally starting the project with my girlfriend!

In the fall of 2016 I purchased 4 sheets of 1/4" okoume BS1088 from a local lumber yard at $112 a sheet!!! Believe it or not it would have been cheaper to get it from BBC and ship it across the entire country to California but only if I purchased more than 7 sheets.

Any how, I plan on having this canoe ready by the end of July so i'm really gonna have to get off my ass!

My girlfriend has already been a huge help plotting the points and drawing the curves, She caught a couple of rookie mistakes I made with measurements

We are working out of a single car garage that has been cleared of most of our stuff just to do this project although its still a little tight. (I have hopes of eventually building a GF16:wink:)

Well Wish us luck!

Karlo & Amy

Yes you better! Ambitious but doable. See some long days and nights in your future...

Threw this together for mission control and RC airplanes in the future (great care was taken to make it flat)

Joining the plotted points of my skillfull girlfriend. We used regular exterior 3/8" ply to serve as a table below the 1/4" okume. It was pretty satisfying to make those pretty curves in no time at all Image

Panels were to be cut the next day. Feeling nervous about cutting these $112 sheets of ply Image
