I'm nearing the end Bateau, you inspirational beautiful bunch. I started my SK14 adventure early June and just put the topcoat on the hull last weekend. I used the metric plans and scaled up 7%, the max I could get without buying more than 7 sheets of ply. Also raised the sides an extra inch on top of the 7%. The boat measures 15'4" LOA, with a 52" Beam. I wanted a bigger version since I'm bigger than most, at 6'4" and around 3 tubs...
At this point I just need to pretty up my front hatch, epoxy the topside, fare, prime, and paint. This was my first time messing with marine paint, chose to go with Awlgrip Topcoat, sprayed easily enough, Sunfast Red is the hull color. I also need to rehabilitate a small galvanized McClain trailer I picked up for $100.00.
Lesson learned in hind sight for next build - The heat and hardness of the flotation foam caused the sides to warp a bit near the transom . I've noticed afterwards, that I'm not the only one that's happened to. Getting the rub rail installed right after the frames/stringers I think would have made the sides rigid enough to prevent that warp. Next time the rub rail is going on right after stringers/frames.
Shout out to "Seaslug" for the helpfull phone calls and the inspiration his builds had on me, and also "Willg" here in the Woodlands, TX. Met Will last year and saw his PH18, really pushed me over the edge in getting a build going, his boat is a work of art if you haven't seen it on here.

You can see the warp in the sides real easy before the rub rail was installed. I'll show you my best attempt to fix this while installing the rubrail. Using wood supports to press the sides in to the shape I wanted, then epoxyed the rubrail into place. Got it a lot less noticable.

Nice looking paint!

Very nice, makes me want to take mine out today. Well, not really, a norther came in last night, no fun in the wind. I love the color and like the 7% solution.

Re: The Big Red SK....15???
Thanks everyone. I chose Awlgrip because I view it as the standard of a good marine paint, going into it I read countless threads of goods and bads of the product. I think if you spray on light coats, I used 3, and give it ample amount of time to flash off inbetween coats, about an hour, it's not bad. I sprayed the recommended mix 1:1:1/4 Topcoat/Converter/Reducer in a bluebird 75 degree light northerner. Used 28lbs at the gun with trigger pulled, almost full fan, with a Harbor Frieght Professional Gun 1.4 tip. I think a 1.1-1.2 tip would be even better.
Looking back at the last pic made me think of another "don't do". Don't use any Pine bonnets for your deck supports along the hull, they don't flex enough and will cause an uneven bend in the hull. USE CHERRY, much more flex. It took me 10 times the amount of fairing as it should have to hide this mistake on the outside of the hull.
