Yeah Peter I know that, but you have to admit, you fix the lower one or give the top one and there never would have been a question in the first place.

The drawing the way it was never would have made it past check in my house! I mean FoMoCo, in my garage I would have just moved on as you showed, close enough.

On that I agree with you! BUT and here it comes, you said and agreed there were dimensions missing to draw out this stringer, I think ( not sure) we agree now that that's not true! with the dimensions given you can draw it and that's MHO. I have to say for me its a little strange also to read all those measurements slapped all over the drawing around the parts. They learned me to use ((dotted)helping ?) lines and try to place all measurements at the top or bottom and left or right of the drawing, but maybe and I really don't know this is the way they do it in nautical drawings

Yes, at first I thought the top one was missing, still would work if you added it, but just fix the bottom one and your good to go.

That is why I just wanted to go away and draw it on CAD, but you wouldn't let me! Ha.

Thanks for all the help! I had no idea that little pic would generate so many responses.
I drew the top stringer on CAD and found the angle then used that angle to finish the other stringer. However you will see in the drawing that my lateral stations for the arc were never dimensioned either.

This picture I took with my camera and the other my phone. This one seems small, did I do something wrong when posting it?

Thanks for all your help!

I'm trying to repost the stringer pic, so it is bigger. This time it just gave a link! Interesting! Any ideas on what I'm not doing correctly?

highlight the link then press the img button at the top of the edit window......so it looks like this:

Code: Select all

that will work partially as you can see below, his pic is 853px × 640 I believe the maximal width is 800 but most ideal for a forum like this is 640, try to resize your pics with a free program like this http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/index.php

not to beat a dead horse, but by this picture alone you CAN NOT draw correctly
it is missing a dimension

top of stringer From centerline to the 22 1/8" measurement, with out it you cannot determine the angle

sorry Peter
. sanded on a canoe, bought a used boat, stayed at a holiday inn last night
