GF 16 - Installing Tackle Center in Rear Seat Frame

Post by johnnemo »

Can I install a Tackle Center like this:

in the rear seat frame (the vertical section, not the top of the seat), or will it weaken the structure?

I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess the typical "rules" apply for frames-- just don't get your cut-out within 3" of the top, bottom, or sides of the frame. I've seen GF's with hatches, doors, open holes, etc in those center frames as long as at least 3" is preserved all around the outside.

it will work, but you could save money and build in a tackle rack of your own design that would hold more and wouldnt cost squat.
