Re: C19 build..
Any advice on mold heights guys?!
The plans call for a strip of hardwood epoxied to plywood transom as reinforcement for motor clamp, that's the hardwood I was referring to.

Re: C19 build..mold height help
Can I get a clear explanation on the easiest way to get the correct mold/ frame height from the strong back on the C19, please.
Can I mount just sitting on the strong back or must they be raised and if so how high?
Thanks

Re: C19 build..mold height help
You must align all the baselines and centerlines like we show here:
http://bateau2.com/howto/jig.php
The baseline can be on the top of the strongbacks or higher. Put it as low as possible, it will be easier to reach the bottom panels.
Transom: yes, I forgot that there are a couple of older plans out there that still show a hardwood clamping board. 25 years ago, the price of hardwood was much lower. You can replace it with plywood and extend the clamping area all the way down.

Thanks!
Re: C19 build.....
Ok guys I got the molds mounted up and transom, getting stringers in place as well a few questions though. My stringer back angle is not really lining up with transom, I'm pretty sure I got the transom mounted at the correct angle. I guess what I'm asking is what am I really looking for at this point, what is most important?
Re: C19 build.....
The transom angle is set by the motorwell sides.
Do you have the motorwell sides in place?

Re: C19 build.....
Could the words inboard and outboard be incorrect on the plans? Drawings clearly show the inboard (closer to keel) stringers longer than the outboard ones, however the label on stringer plans has the bigger stringers as "outboard".
Re: C19 build.....
The inboard stringers are longer than the outboard ones.
Yes, the text is inverted.
I corrected that 10 years ago but it came back, mysterious.
If necessary, notch the stringers for the clamping board.
