Hi.
When trailing the boat with the engine mounted, is it necessary to have a transom saver, engine support?
I have my transom glued to the sides and bottom, then 2 layer of biaxial tape 15oz each side, and the same tape on the stringers to transom joints.
But the transom is a piece of 3/8” plywood glued and taped to a piece of 1/4” plywood (the sides and bottom).
Is this strong enough to support the engine when trailering?
I imagine a havy 100 lbs engine, bouncing up and down, on bad roads, is a lot of stress on the transom, like hiting it with a 100 lbs hammer.
So, I need to put a transom saver, or to carry the engine in my trunk?
Thank you.

the trailer has suspension and the tires are inflated with air.... so it is not at all like a hammer... and it is plenty strong .... dont over think it....

If your worried about it just get a little transom saver. I got one for a John boat with a 25 hp motor for about $40.
