Re: XF 20 Build
I got the entire boat sanded with 120 then 220, After that I glued in the floor supports. I need to add a few more small supports before fitting and gluing the plywood down. she's getting close.

Re: XF 20 Build
foam isnt in the budget and i want to get it on the water and start fishing before the year is out and try to recoup some of the $$$ I have into this thing.
I got the remainder of the cleats for the floor in place, along with the first coat of total fair compound on. That stuff is a dream to work with, great working time and if spread on thin it goes a long ways.

heavy duty lawn bags doubled up and filled with air tie the opening, put inside compartment. Anything that will displace any water that may get in the compartment, water bottles, milk jugs....

Sorry for being late on the job but I just noticed this thread so pardon me if this has been asked and answered: Are you an A's fan?

If you glue the sole down well; each compartment is technically buoyant if sealed.

It always amazes me how big that boat is and what a tank it is. Looking great!

Re: XF 20 Build
No but my family is from the area of NC where Catfish is from... Atl Braves guy here lol. I get the name from the elusive catfish from the movie "grumpy old men"
The center compartment will be sealed "airtight" the side compartments have scuppers from front hatches to the rear bilge where I'll have a automatic bilge pump on each side. I can always drill some holes in the center area later and fill with foam, but in all reality if I sink in Chassahowtizka i'll just get out of the boat and stand up. the water isnt very deep.
Thanks for stopping in everyone. I sanded back the first coat of fairing compound, should get some more work done this weekend.
