While your idea is interesting, and if you decide to go forward i will watch intently, my first criticism is the space you will lose back there. Couple that with the performance losses and I'm not sure you will be pleased in the end. Not really a great boat at displacement speeds, especially in a chop, because of the flat bottom. It will plane quickly and easily, and at low speeds. If you are not running nets, what are the pluses for a well?

I ran a 40 hp 4 stroke Yamaha on mine for 8 years and it performed well. Just put a new 70 Yamaha on and she's a whole different boat! :D. I am not a speed freak at all, looking more for fuel economy and range. The mileage between the 40 and 70 appears to be almost the same as the 70 is working less for the same speed.

Again, if you decide to go forward i will watch with interest.
