She floats!!!! I’m still in a bit of shock...even though for a year and a half I’ve researched countless hours, read book after book, scoured the internet into the wee hours for nights and nights on end, read every last post on this forum, and spent blood sweat and tears into building it....until she slides off the trailer, you just don’t know do you? Well, we found out today! She floats perfectly even and runs like a dream. I couldn’t ask for more! No real performance or draft numbers yet, just enjoyed the moment with family and friends. More work to do, need to finish wiring, rigging stereo, installing and wiring nav unit, bilge...but what a relief to get her in the water. Thank you all for your support and advice!! Especially Jeff and Reid. It wouldn’t have happened without you two!

Some serious talent went into that build, really amazing!
There are only two seasons in Vermont: boating season, and boat-building season.

Completed Paul Butler 14' Clark Fork Drifter
Completed Jacques Mertens FS14LS + 10%, Build Thread
Started Iain Oughtred Tammie Norrie

Really nice work!!! She looks awesome! I cannot believe you broke a bottle on the bow though. I don't think I would be able to do that.
Looking forward to seeing some action shots and what your speeds are.
Give me a call at the shop when you get a chance.

It was a scored bottle from West Marine made for christining! Easy to break, unlike a real bottle lol. We drank the real bottle!! I’ll bring it by the shop soon!

Congratulations! Big day in your life :D
I think all of us have some of that same fear the first time we launch a new boat.
