PH 22 Build
Working on stringers on PH 22 still in the jig / mold phase and when I notched my frames and stringers unless I completely misunderstood something the top of my stringer will come flush with my BL and in order for that to happen the bottom of my stringer at some frames are very recessed into the frame at some as much as an inch. Is this normal or did i do something very wrong?

Not sure of the answer for you but if you do not get an answer do not be shy about bumping the question so JM sees it.
Re: PH 22 Build
I'd start checking the alignment and spacing of the molds to make sure everything is square, baselines level, etc.

Just a non-specific view from a non-plan owner.
But,
Wouldn't the tops of the stringers align to the DWL or be parallel to it? A good double check at least.
That way when the boat was on her lines; you'd be level walking.
This statement, assumes the BL is not the same as the DWL a bit.
Be careful you are getting the spacings of the frames correct. If you measure one in between and another outside to outside? It'd get haywire fast.

Also, in s&g construction and all boat construction; you NEVER want tight fits. So expecting them to be flush would be an error as well. There must be room for adhesives.
An inch is unsettling, though.

Did you check to see if the frames are actually fair?
Did you level with a good quality laser?
I had a bad laser on a job once and spent two hours until realizing it.

Re: PH 22 Build
I did put three 1/4" holes on the B/L on all frames one in the center and two about a foot to port and starboard and shot laser thru all three and they hit the B/L on the transom thru all the frames. looking at the print it does look like the top of the stringer does come to the b/l and the bottom of the stringer seems to come away from the hull towards the front.

Re: PH 22 Build
Are the frames fair with a batten?
Re: PH 22 Build
I would inspect you stringers. The baseline is pretty easy to mark on each frame so I think that's less likely to go wrong. They aren't all off by an inch, and the flat side of the stringers are sitting correctly in all your notches so I think you probably didn't make a mistake there. The curved side of the stringers is marked and cut with a baton, more room for error. Measure your stringers against all the measurements on the plans and make sure they aren't smaller than they should be.

stringers measure out okay. Looking at plans am i correct that the stringer should come up to the bottom of the sole?
