Did you decide to go with the FL or are you thinking another design better fits your program?

I will stick with the FL, I can live with the “limitations “of the design, it is a classic boat and I love it, also I check prices foor a new Beta45 diesel and is not too hight, also someone has to build one in Fl, probably me!👍

Wonderful! I’m hoping to build one someday. Be sure to do a build thread and share pics with the rest of us!

Sorry, I missed the question. Look at the drawing titled machinery. There is plenty of room one each side outside of the stringer next to the engine.
A pair of size 31 will do the job. One of them is sufficient to start, for the HP I show and they are not too difficult to handle compared to 4D's.

I’m not the designer, but I would caution against it. I’m building a little FL14 with Roseburg (or something like that) “AB Marine” and it is absolute garbage. On a large boat the cost of the plywood is a relatively small percentage of the total build cost and the savings really wouldn’t be there by time you spend more on epoxy (cheaper wood soaks up more resin) and then you have a lesser quality, heavier boat when you’re done.
