Old growth southern yellow pine has good resistance to weather, but most of it is farm grown now and isn't as good as its reputation.

pee wee you are absolutely correct, might as well use white pine, well it may be a little better but not much. Tom

I ripped the rub rails from a 20ft 2x6. Then planed them down to size. Just thought it would save time rather than laminating. Did the same on my sk14.

I’m still trying to decide on a brand for the top coat. I’m leaning toward system 3. I initially wanted to use alexseal but it’s pretty high. Any suggestions?
