Question for Jacques
Question for Jacques
This question arrived over the weekend via an email: "Do the USCG flotation requirements apply for your small stitch and glue boats if they use either an electric motor or and manually propelled, ie paddled or sculled??" Jeff
Re: Question for Jacques
Yes and no.
Yes, the rules do not make a difference between electric, gas or whatever.
There is a difference between the types of boats and their size.
No because amateur built boats do not have to comply with industry standards.
I recommend to use buoyancy foam whenever possible whatever the rules are.
