Thank you, the bungee area is where my life vests and throwable will live. Yes, the raised portion in the middle of the hatch is the second later of 9mm.
Built: 15ft Skiff, 16ft Skiff, Modified Cheap Canoe, and an FS17.

Jeff,
I have used the "Prisma Composites Preform Planks" purchased from Builder Central on the underside of a large hatch on my boat. They come in different lengths , have 24 oz glass attached and can be cut
to length. I used the 1 in thickness and am amazed at how rigid they are.
