What do you guys prefer for a drain plug?

Something with a sleeve, or just a face mounted plate?

Hole will obviously be over bored and epoxy filled, then bored again, but that’s all I know.

All comes down to risk. If the plug is out; what happens?

I'd prefer a plug that threads into something.

Gemlux has a drain plug that is threaded and can be opened from the outside or from the inside. Drill oversize, fill, redrill, and then when installing I flooded the annulus with 5200. The outside is flanged and is secured with 3 screws.
I had a bilge pump fail while offshore once in pretty rough seas and was getting a lot of spray. I had a buddy drive while I hung over the transom to remove the drain plug. When I built my Phantom I found the Gemlux drain plug that could be opened while underway without hanging over the transom.

I’ve looked at that. Should a sleeve be used inside the hole, or just a coated hole?

I just used the coated hole but was liberal bedding it in 5200. When unscrewed the plug can't be removed so it is never lost.
