Phantom 16/18 vs waves

Good points Browndog. He can also consider the OB17. One of our west coast builders built the OB17 and takes it offshore into the Pacific with out a problem. Since it already is built with a single panel if he wants to cut it down it would be easy to do. It also has a deeper V than the Phantom's more like the C boats. A lightweight Yamaha 60-70 would power him fine. They only weigh about 250lbs.(113kgs)

I'd like to renew my question but now its about Ph22 and GP21. Bigger boat than PH 16/18 is proplaby handling better on rough water. So which one, PH22 or GP21 would be better for a little bit choppy water ? From study plans its hard to say for me. I think that both of them have deadrise at transom about 3-4 degrise, and at catwater about 25.

It would be better if you start a new thread. In my opinion the GP would be the better boat.
