So this Question occured to me today as i was looking for a motor. While my transom is 25"it is 20" at the tunnel . I will be putting a jack plate on but i am wondering if i should be shopping a 25" or 20" shaft motor?
Thanks

Re: xf 22 transom
With placement of your Jack plate to work with, 20”. Another parameter you can work is take some off the transom height if you need to. No way 25”
Re: xf 22 transom
Agree with Pete your transom height should be 20" above the tunnel. Remember when you set up your jackplate you want the initial starting point at the level of the hull and then raising it up as the water hump builds as you come up to speed.

Re: xf 22 transom
Thanks Guys
I have 20" above the tunnel,25 " from bottom of hull. If i use standard ABYC mounting holes for the jack plate(atlas) will there be enough adjustment to get a 20" motor to the correct level with the hull bottom for hole shot? This whole tunnel, jack plate thing is new to me!
