Hey all,
My dad and I have finally embarked on our second wooden boat build! We’re going with the C19, love the size and look of that boat. We’re in the process of cutting out most of the pieces and the gonna need to clear out the shop for assembly. Very exciting start!
C19 Build by the Bay
Re: C19 Build by the Bay
Welcome MD. Lots of C19's have been built on here. So ask questions as you go. Looking at where your at I assume you'll be fishing the upper Chesapeake. Two or three have been built have been built around it. When you get to deciding on motors a 90 will put you in the high 30 mph's and a 115 in the low 40 mph's. I will be glad to help you pick the prop you need on which ever motor you select using my motor and prop calculators.
We love pictures of builds so keep us up to date on your build.
Regards, Tom

Sweet! Glad to see another in the works. I hope to pass you on 95 sometime soon!
I'm down the road in Richmond should you ever need any help.
What was your first build?

Thanks everybody! I’m sure we’ll be asking a few questions along the way.
TomW,
Yes we’ll be doing most of the boating and fishing in the upper bay, around the bridge area. We’re planning to put a 90 on it. That would be great for some advice.
Dan,
Sounds great, thanks! Our first build was a 16’ flat bottom skiff from a different company however.

Re: C19 Build by the Bay
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the start of your current boat building project!
I grew up in Maryland and my family had a boat docked on the South River for most of my youth. We frequently fished the Bay Bridge, Thomas Point light and points south of there.
A couple of years ago I finished building an FS-19 for my brother who lives in Virginia and uses the boat frequently to fish the Lower Bay and its tributaries.
Best wishes to you for success.
