PH15 Splashed!

Post by bgelber »

Finally! After a year and a half of building, sanding, sweating, sanding some more, the TailChaser has finally tasted water.

I launched it last Saturday in Ft. Lauderdale, and although we had some challenges with the motor (I think we had too much oil in the mix, which clogged the carburetor, and prevented us from getting much above idle), the boat itself was great...

I'll re-splash this coming weekend, and make it the "official" launching, complete with pouring a beer over the bow...

All that's left to do is mount the trolling motor, poling platform and rear deck cushion, all of which I'll do in the coming weeks.

Thanks for all the advice and council, folks. I couldn't have done it without ya'll...

Bret

Thats great :!:

Im sure your ready to use the boat. The console really looks nice. What sort of trim tabs did you go with?

I am SO ready to use it!

I went with the Lenco tabs. I've heard great things about both them and Bennett, and went with the Lenco's because they're simpler (electric vs. hydraulic).

Fine looking boat :!: Looks like it is going to run very skinny.
The switch from builder to fisher can cause withdrawal pains sometimes until a big spec/red comes along almost take the rod out of your hands. That and all the sanding you are NOT doing

Doug.

You are so right - I am experiencing serious withdrawal. I'm so used to spending nearly every waking moment in the garage, that I don't know what to with my free time!

I'm definitely looking forward to many fishing trips to come...
