Robbie, I plan to visit River Delta Marina & Campground this Thursday. Yes, it should be good fishing for Bream, Bass, Catfish, Alligator Gar, Logger Head Snapping Turtles, and Free Range Redneck women.

Hey Folks,

I am brand new here, and Southern Gent has posted about this get together. I cannot confirm 100% whether I will be there (I am an active duty service member in the Navy Seabees, I am stationed in Gulfport MS) but I will confirm with the spousal unit to see if she would be down to hang with come fisherman/boaters (she is a fisherman's daughter, so she can probably teach me a thing or two). I really want to hear about all of your building experiences as well. Boat building doesn't run in the family, but my love for the water points we to that direction. I hope to see you all the weekend of this meeting.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Kevin

Hey SeaBee, welcome to the group. I was an instructor there at the Builder 'A' School for 4 years. That was 6 years ago. Good times....

I Visited River Delta Marina & Campground and it will not work for us. Only 4 Primitive cabins with bath house down the road. Cash Only no Credit or debit cards. Nice RV park & Marina area. It's a dry camp " Ice Tea " not alcohol.

It tough to fine a Marina with Motel rooms Along the FL Panhandle, AL. MS. gulf coast

Let's plan on using this motel Magnolia Inn of Gautier and Gautier city park / boat launch on Mary Walker Bayou just above Tuccie's fish camp July 12/15, 2013. Tuccie's has not been helpful in our booking due to long term occupancy.

We will make Gautier City Park our Center of Activities on Saturday July 13th. Robbie Robins AKA Robbiro and Bill Davis AKA Southern Gent will work out a time table including an BBQ dinner Saturday late afternoon. Details to follow

Magnolia inn of Gautier 704 HWY 90 Gautier MS 39553. Phone 228-522-0288 they offer continental Breakfast / swimming pool. We are offered a 79.00 rate for King size bed or 79.00 for 2 queen size beds. Call direct for this rate Use " Bateau Builders Group Name "

The Magnolia Inn of Gautier is located just 2 miles from Shepard State Park. Guests can enjoy a swim in the hotel’s outdoor pool and a continental breakfast is served each morning.

Free Wi-Fi is included in all rooms of this hotel as well as cable TV. Coffee-making facilities are provided in the rooms in addition to a microwave and refrigerator.

A business centre is on site at the Gautier Magnolia Inn and free parking is possible on site. The hotel is pet friendly and vending machines for drinks are available on site.

Just 10 minutes’ drive separates guests of this hotel from the beach. The Beau Rivage Casino and Biloxi city centre are 20 minutes away by car.

The Magnolia Inn of Gautier is 2 blocks around the corner from Gautier city Park / boat launch. This Property has restrooms and wonderful Live Oak trees to meet under.

Gautier City Park boat ramp is free and there isn’t much parking, but you can squeeze a lot of trailers in there. The ramp is pretty steep though. There are several ramps within 10 miles from there and Mary Walker Bayou has good brackish water fishing, speckled trout, redfish, black drum, puppy drum(a young black drum), sheepshead, flounder and of course everyone’s favorites….catfish and croker…lol

I am hoping to be able to make it down there and meet you guys, I know the area very well…grew up running Mary Walker Bayou and the West River. Mary Walker marina has live bait and is right down the road (shrimp, croker, and mullet)

Red Snapper season ends at midnight on July 4th. But the barrier islands are only about 10 miles off shore and the first oil rig is only about 7 miles past the islands (triple rigs..can’t miss them). Cobia, Lane Snapper, mangrove snapper and kings are available if you can catch them. Even some dolphin(Dorado) and triple tails are available….but not everywhere!!

There are some great grass beds at Horn Island and if you fish the East or West point you can always catch a shark!!

There are 4 barrier islands off of Gautier/Pascagoula - Round, Sand, Horn and Petit Bois Island.

You can also take a nice boat ride to Ship and Cat island or just take a night cruise over to Biloxi Bay and tie up at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville dock....eat dinner have a few cocktails and gamble a little.

I really hope I can make it!!!!

4. Gautier - Mary Walker Bayou Pier (Click for Map)
Directions: Going East on Hwy. 90 take left De La Pointe Drive. Go three blocks and take left City Park Drive; plenty of parking.
Maggie Tip: Get past the thick grass under the pier. Drop your bait near a pier piling.
