My bateau (bbc) fs12 build, splashed today. Started build April 2018, interrupted by hurricane michael (cat 5).
Hull at that time was stored in what seemed like a secure location, upside down for the storm that we thought was going to be a mild cat 3.
After the storm passed, I had to assess the damage and consider if I wanted to continue on with the build. I quickly drilled a hole (where the drain plug would be), drained the water and set up under dry storage. Fortunately for the build, it was 90F plus for a couple weeks after the storm, helping the drying out process.
As the build progressed, my creative juices got flowing a little better, middle seat is a removable hatch top, and rear seat also slides completely off.
The bow 'cleat' is probably strange looking, I wanted to use some wood from a magnolia in our yard that lost a large branch during the storm, so it's 2 pieces of semi circle magnolia with a peice of cumaru in between, all epoxied and sealed.
For some reason I decided I didn't want metal cleats on this boat, hence the holes in transom knees etc.
As the build progressed, I became more and more conflicted about whether I was taking it to a boat show or taking it crabbing, lol.
As I started learning how to be neater with epoxy and varnish, I realized how beautiful the white oak and atlantic white cedar can be. (even in my very unskilled clumsy hands)
Still lots of drips and sags that really drove me nuts for a while. I didn't do much with a proper water line or boot stripe, next build perhaps.
Bottom is fasco super slick 2000 (lots of mud flats and sand bars around here), I've realized good grief, I'm going to need like 4 straps + roll of duct tape to keep it from sliding off the trailer bunks now lol.
