OB 15 finished

Post by Rtorres2411 »

Today got the OB 15 on the first day of Sea Trials. Doing engine break in to the Suzuki 30 hp. Only got it to 3000 rpm and that gave a speed of 8 knots. In a short burst to 4000 rpm got it to 17 knots. That is with 2 adults, 2 kids onboard and 6 gallons of gas. The boat feel very stable and turns very quickly. It feels bigger than a 15 foot boat.
Will keep posting as I run it to higher rpms and greater speeds.

The boat does look good on the water! Must has been a very happy time for you but the family sure did have big smiles too.

Very nice job on the finish. Boat is practical and very well laid out. Everything you need on a 15 footer.

Thanks for the great comments to all. Yesterday I took the OB out to continue the engine break in schedule. As I wrote before, 4000 rpm is giving me 17 knots. This speed is fun, but can't wait to go WOT. There was some chop yesterday at the lake and it was interesting watching the boat hitting it. It is a very dry boat. I have a video of it but don't know how to post it here.
