Disney World this week. West Coast beach suggestions?

At Disney this week. Looking to spend a day and night at the coast due Westish of Orlando. Any suggestions?

Crystal River or Homossasa Springs would probably be your best bet. I wouldn't be at Disney on a bet

Are you looking for beach or just a saltwater town? Head due east an hour and you'll be in Daytona (one little problem = Bike Week). Pick New Smyrna, just a bit south of Daytona. Real pretty beach and won't be overly crowded. Head west about 1.5 hours (maybe 2 hours) for Clearwater or any beach within 10-15 miles north or south of it. Enjoy it, the weather is nice right now!

Disney World is on the I-4 corridor. Sarasota or St. Pete is due west on I-4 about 2 hr.'s or less; ranked some of the best beaches in the world. They are beach towns to take the family and vacation.

The east coast is much closer. There are nice beaches around Cocoa beach (surfing) and there is Cape Canaveral to visit.

Don't forget Tarpon Springs area. great waterfront and wonderful food Greek delights

Thanks for the suggestions all. After 5 days in the parks, I decided a beach on the way home that would shave some miles from my drive was a priority. We stopped over at Pensacola Beach and spent an few hours on the beach. Weather was not cooperating and I developed a raging Sinus infection, so we stayed one night and headed home. Great to sleep in my own bed.
