I am right handed and reel with my left hand most of the time with fresh water rigs. I see that most saltwater rigs are reeled by the right hand? Why, and what do most of you guys use? I had to look long and hard to find reels that let me reel with my left hand.

I've always cranked left handed. Thats the way I learned.

Here's the real deal. I am very left handed. Meaning I am not very good at using my right hand for diddly. My left hand has much better dexterity. For spinning reels, I use my left finger to hold and release the line and I throw the top of the rod with the left hand/arm and reel with the right. What is more important than anything is casting distance and accuracy. The reeling part is not the most important thing. I am a very practiced and experienced and pretty decent spincaster. Just make sure you hold the line throw the rod with the same hand you throw the baseball with and you should be able to get used to reeling with your off hand. For a right handed person, for example, they ought to be better throwing with the right hand/finger combination and then just getting accustomed to reeling left.

If you try to do everything with one hand, you will fatigue easier. Good luck-have fun

Most heavy boat rods are drop rigged not casting rigs. So deep water fishing on a strange boat might be tough.

Played with the rig today.Too much going on with a spinning reel to change hands also.I'm making myself retrieve with my left hand, end of story.

I hold the rig in my left hand and light the fuse with the right, switch hands and through with my right.

Yes we had and for sure we will, this year we skip the US for Europe (after more than 10 years) But next year vacation will be probably the good old US again, maybe we stop by in Tampa, wanna visit Larry and Dori again also, it has been too long!
