That's very true of the "first event" for me. The second event typically involves a counter full of china and crystal, a pot of still very hot soup, an angry wife, a hungry dog, and gravity. A lot of gravity. The worst "dueling pinkie stubbing" resulted in a busted nose (rung of chair), numerous cuts (not stitches) and a grotesquely swollen wrist that needed a trip to the medic the next day. Let's just say that Mrs no longer questions me when I say "that table needs to be someplace else".

I have no idea how I've not killed myself walking on boat decks yet. Maybe shoes are the key for me.
My already completed 'Lil Bit'. A Martens Goosen V12 set up to sail me to the fishing holes.
Currently working on making a Helms 24 our coastal cruiser.

What about a thick rubber floor? Anyone ever done that where the floor is granules? Maybe that'd work?

I was wondering about a grate. That would solve some of it.
There are only two seasons in Vermont: boating season, and boat-building season.

Cut out a 6mm marine plywood donut, and glue it around the hatch. I'll be using a few hatches/inspection ports and will probably try to locate them under seats etc.
