So, I had to make gaskets for my in sole hatches. I hope they work. I fretted and stewed and tried 15 directions.

Here is what I came up with...

A dremel tool with a fitting. A 1/4" half round cutterhead. I made a plastic insert for the dremel base and put a screw in for a guide.

I still have to glue the gasket in. Thinkin epoxy, but maybe silicone would be better if to change in future.

Very ingenious with the dremel. I take it you don't have a router?

I'd go with silicon. Eventually the gasket will fail and I for one would find it much easier removing silicon than epoxy.

Oh, I have routers, but nothing with a 2" base. I think silicone or 3m 4200 is a good plan.

Think I have to paint it a bit first..which is a bit of an issue because I had planned kiwigrip, but I can't paint a rough surface.

I have used 3M Super Adhesive 77 spray for jobs like this. You will have to mask off areas you don't want the spray to get on.

Oh, that could be a winner, the bead/bulb is real 'floaty'.

I think it would stick on contact to the bulb and then I could put the lid on and some weight.

I think I'll try this on my GV-13 hatches.

Can you explain a bit more how the screw was used for a guide? I'm not following what edge it was pressing against.

The Wizard base really would not allow me to make a decent guide. So I cut out and press fitted (you could hotglue) a 1/4" piece of plastic inside it.

Then I calculated the desired location of the offset and predrilled a hole.

I took a sample piece and then spotted the screw on the edge of the landing.

Then the screw on the wizard depth gauge, I always keep at a 90 degree. When I get to the end, I spin the wizard.

I have about 1/4" of clearance to the edges of the gutters.

The screw is making a small indent in the gutter landing. I don't care. I used a small sample piece to draw the line where the edge is and then split the head distance for the predrilling for the screw. The first cut is a bit of a plunge. Move slowly with pressure on the screw. Make a final go around cleanup pass. This would work with wood. I plan to paint the gutters first.

Ah, yeah, the smallest router I have has a 3" base.
Slick setup you came up with.

Rubber cement works well on rubber gaskets.
