Anyone know how to deal with lugs touching and no room for sheathing?
Is this allowed?

Get some large diameter heat shrink tubing and cover everything, heat it up so it is tight everywhere, then trim off the ends just enough to make the connections at the terminal. As far as "is this allowed?" , I say sure...but recommend you need to ask someone other than me

Get rid of the lugs and wires and just use a connector plate.

Alternatively...
Rotate one battery 180deg and use a cable. I know that’s not popular but it does help to prevent “drop shorts” if a wrench, fender, random conductive object manages to bridge the close posts.

Re: Lugs too close
Simple:
1. rotate 1 battery 180 degrees,
2. use a very slightly longer cable
3. run in 12v parallel instead of 24v
4. return/sell on craigs list all your 24v appliances and buy brand new, 12v ones.
problem solved.
Hope this helps.

Re: Lugs too close
Just for understanding, why not rotate one bat to eliminate the bend?
The obvious reason would be that the house cables are already cut to have both terminals at one side. Just not sure if I’m missing something.

Well I set it all up for hots to go right and grounds to go left. I only have two batts in here, but plan is four.
Gonna have to make a battery drip tray as well...
